How it goes

Three stages, no surprises.

We move at your pace, but we map every milestone up front. You always know what's next and who you'll be flying with.

01

Pre-solo

Maneuvers, pattern work, and the FAA written knowledge test. You'll fly with your instructor until you can take off, fly the pattern, and land safely on your own.

02

Cross-country

Navigation, radio work, and longer flights — including dual and solo cross-countries. This is where you start feeling like a pilot.

03

Checkride prep

Stage check with the chief instructor, oral exam practice, and the FAA practical test with a Designated Pilot Examiner. Walk away with your certificate.

FAQs

Common questions.

How long does it take?+

Most students finish in 6–9 months flying once or twice a week. Faster if you can fly more often. The FAA minimum is 40 hours — the national average is closer to 60–75 hours, so plan honestly.

What does the whole certificate cost?+

It depends on aircraft choice, how often you fly, and how quickly you study. Call (334) 443-3784 for a current cost estimate broken down by hour — we'll give you a real number, not a sales pitch.

Do I need a medical?+

Yes — at minimum a BasicMed or third-class FAA medical before your first solo. We'll point you to local AMEs and walk you through the application.

What aircraft will I train in?+

Primarily the Piper Cherokee — a forgiving, easy-to-fly trainer. Our fleet also includes a Twin Comanche for advanced training.

Ready when you are

Don't let another year go by on the ground.

Five years from now, you can be the person who flew their family to the beach last weekend — or the person still talking about it.

Most people who say they'll learn to fly never do, because they never take the first step. Book a discovery flight today and we'll be in the air this week.
